OMAHA, NE AND WASHINGTON, DC – May 5, 2016 – Solutionary, an NTT Group security company (NYSE: NTT) and leading cybersecurity services provider, is proud to announce its participation in the “Joining Forces” initiative. Solutionary, and more than 50 other companies from around the U.S., were recognized at the White House for their support of service members, veterans and their families by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. With 25 percent of its current workforce comprised of veterans, Solutionary pledges to grow its U.S. military veteran hiring over the next five years.
In 2011, First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden came together to launch Joining Forces, a nationwide initiative calling all Americans to rally around service members, veterans and their families and support them through wellness, education and employment opportunities. Joining Forces works hand in hand with the public and private sector to ensure that service members, veterans, and their families have the tools they need to succeed throughout their lives.
“It means a lot to me when a company is sincere in their efforts to hire and train veterans into meaningful positions. That has been my experience with Solutionary,” said Ed Russell, information security analyst, Solutionary and a retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant. “They understand the value of the skills and experience I bring from the military and provided training for the areas where I needed further development. As a result, I’m now employed with a great technology company doing important work. The whole experience has been very rewarding for me personally and for my family.”
In addition to participating in the annual Joining Forces initiative, Solutionary plays an integral role in the SANS VetSuccess Immersion program. The immersion academy is an intensive, accelerated program for veterans that provides the real-world training and certifications needed to fill critical jobs in cybersecurity. “The Joining Forces initiative, and the brilliant work by the First Lady and Dr. Biden, ensures the veteran community will be well represented in the tech community for years to come,” said Steve Idelman, CEO, Solutionary. “As a longtime supporter of the troops, we are thrilled to be a part of the movement as we place tremendous value in our veterans’ abilities and their contributions. The information security space is one of the hottest industries in the world and the skillset often found in our veteran community will be in high demand as we lock arms and help our customers defend against threat actors from around the world.”
